In the love and power of Jesus Christ, this is a campaign designed to be an outreach to all men who are abusive, violent or potentially violent. Author Donna Savage is looking for strong Supporters and Sponsers in this campaign that are ready, willing and able to assist in this very necessary project, that will not only help thousands of men become free from this relentless crime, but will help to put an end to the domestic violence crisis that is ongoing in every part of the world.
Life in general is harder for some much more than others, and economic issues can put a very harsh strain on relationships. This is one of the many reasons that abusive men will attack their partners. We have all heard of the bad economy and the rising cost of everything from the gas, which we need to drive our cars, to the food we all need to eat. If not properly attended to, the feelings of despair, which may be brought on by the negative economy, will cause much more attacks and assaults on the victims, as they are the ones in the line of fire when emotions boil over in the abuser. Jealousy also plays a major role, with inadequately attended emotions in the abuser, along with drug and/or alcohol abuse. Whatever the reason, in each case, there is hope for all involved, if given the right counsel.
Men that are of great influence are being sought out to stand up and be a helping hand to these abusers who are in need of a positive mentor...one that can lead them in a new and much better way of life, than the one they are living right now. We have leaders in so many areas, that are paving the way for others to follow...why not for the cause of domestic violence, through a campaign that is specifically designed and targeted to reach these abusers, before another episode, which may very well be the last one for the victim?
As this campaign is being born, there was yet another death in Montclair, New Jersey...A husband killed his wife at a YMCA, as she attended a swimming class with her children. He shot her numerous times in front of all...including their kids, who stood by, watching, in horror. This is just one of many murders that have been escalating at an alarming rate. I did a survey on domestic violence cases which ended in murder-suicide, reported by the New Jersey Star Ledger, going back for just 10 years, and was shocked by the number of results that came from the search. I cannot imagine what the total amount of cases is worldwide. (see the page on my website titled Domestic Violence Report)
The current legal system for domestic violence cases (which is definitely needed), forces the abuser to attend 'anger management classes', sometimes in lieu of jail time. While this may benefit some cases, this can make the situation worst for some victims. These abusers are violent, which is why they are before the judge in the first place, and they blame the victim for bringing them before the court, which may result in further harm to the victim or in many cases, the taking of one or both of their lives. We all have heard of the inumerable cases of the murders in which the victim had an Order of Protection. The anger escalates in many abusers after the court appearance. This is why I believe an Abuser Hotline, publicized just as much as the Victims Hotline would be very beneficial to all. This will give the abuser the opportunity to volunteer to get help before an episode gets out of hand. Today's technology would make it very discreet for an abuser to reach out to mentors via email, text messaging, phone and any other communication means, where they can be heard and receive the help they so desperately need. My prayer is that they will reach out for help as soon as they recognize the symptoms of an act of violence, before it has a chance to occur. Lives can be saved if given the proper counsel and care for each and every situation...one man at a time!
This Campaign is appealing to all Clergy(especially Prayer Warriors), Celebrities of all types including Actors, Singers, Athletes, Politicians, Medical Personel, Military, Law Officers and all others that are considered to be men of positive influence. My vision is to set up a Network that will be available 24/7, allowing abusers access to help, in the time of need...just as there is help 24/7 for the victims, we need even more so a hotline for the abusers.
I am looking forward to a very strong campaign with positive results, which will become noteworthy to all, as the domestic violence rate drops throughout the world. Please contact author Donna Savage through her Myspace page or by email at dmsavagebooks@aol.com all who support this urgent issue.
